Farmington Community Services is pleased to offer holiday supports to families in need in our community.  Through partnerships with local businesses, individuals and non-profits who provide donations and monetary support we are able to make the holidays less stressful for families.  We are pleased to offer the following holiday supports:

Thanksgiving Food Baskets

These baskets are filled with all of the items a family needs to have a full Thanksgiving dinner.  We take into consideration the family size, dietary restrictions and preparation abilities to help best serve the each family.

Communal Thanksgiving Dinner

Farmington Community Services hosts its annual town-wide Thanksgiving Day Dinner Gathering each year at the Farmington Community and Senior Center located at 321 New Britain Avenue in Unionville. With the help of volunteers and staff a full Thanksgiving dinner is prepared and served.  Participants, volunteers, and donors are always welcome and needed. Please contact Community Services at 860-675-2390 to make your reservation or for more information.

Winter Holiday Food Baskets

These baskets are filled with all of the items a family needs to have a full Winter Holiday dinner.  We take into consideration the family size, dietary restrictions and preparation abilities to help best serve the each family.

Holiday Gift Giving

Each year, Farmington Community Services coordinates the Holiday Gift Giving Program for families in need.  Working with local families, staff help to identify holiday gift needs for the children who may otherwise go without holiday gifts.  Once these needs are identified staff work with area donors to fulfill these gift wishes and make the holidays brighter for children in our community.

Little Shoppers Program

Little Shoppers is a new program that gives children from low-income families the opportunity to “shop” for a gift for their loved ones. This program relies on donations of  new and unused items that are appropriate for moms, dads, grandparents, etc.
