Construction Projects In-Progress:
  • Town of Farmington Road Repair & Reconstruction Plan - Updated July 2, 2024

  • Burlington Road Reconstruction Project - The Town of Farmington has been awarded funding under the State of Connecticut LOTCIP program for the Burlington Road Reconstruction Project.  The purpose of the project is to provide a consistent pavement, lane, and shoulder widths, an improved drainage system, and improve pavement conditions.  Construction on Burlington Road has concluded for the year; the project will resume in early Spring of 2025 for the remaining drainage work, road excavation and paving.  Please reach out to Dylan Reilly (ReillyD@farmington-ct.org) with any questions regarding the project.   
    Construction Plans
  • State Project #51-0272: Unionville Bridge Rehabilitation Project - The CT Department of Transportation started this project in March 2021. During construction, they discovered that the structural steel for the sidewalk support and railings were in worse condition than anticipated requiring a redesign. Paving of the bridge was completed on September 19, 2023.

  • Westwoods Recreation Complex (Updated October 29, 2024) - The new Westwoods Recreation Center includes the construction of eight pickleball courts, a splash pad, storage building, bathrooms, changing rooms, office space, and 80 additional parking spaces. This project received $500,000 in funding from a 2022 STEAP Grant and an additional $200,000 from federal ARPA funds. To date, the building exterior is nearly complete; additional contractors will be starting work on the courts and splash pad once the exterior of the building has been completed. Work on the site will continue to the Spring of 2025.


Recently Completed Construction:

  • South Road at Colt Highway & Two Mile Road, Roundabout Project - The Town of Farmington was awarded funding under the State of Connecticut LOTCIP program for the South Road/Colt Highway Roundabout.  The purpose of this project was to improve traffic circulation through the intersection during peak volume times, which saw delays during both the AM and PM peak hours.

  • Knollwood Road Water Main Project - Connecticut Water Company installed a new water main on Knollwood Road between Northwoods Road and Wyndwood Road. About one-mile, or 5,000 feet, of water main was installed at a cost of approximately $2.0 million.
