Respite Resources
If you are caring for others there are resources available to support you as the caregiver and your efforts. The following links can offer some resources and information that may be useful.
Farmington Community Services:
Town Assistance and Resources (for help with individual cases and questions)
Farmington Community Services offers a variety of programs and services to caregivers. We also have skilled social workers and support staff available to answer questions and work directly with caregivers to find resources that best fit their individual situation.
Home Care:
North Central Area Agency on Aging (NCAAA)
North Central Area Agency on Aging, Inc’s. (NCAAA) mission is to provide aging resources to help enhance the quality of life for older adults, individuals with disabilities, and their caregivers in North Central Connecticut by ensuring that they have access to quality and cost-effective services. NCAAA provides financial assistance to agencies serving older residents of North Central Connecticut as well as respite care services, long term care services, and aging resources directly to consumers.

Connecticut Respite Care Program
The Connecticut Respite Care Program provides caregivers with services and help with developing a care plan for an individual with Alzheimer’s disease or other dementia disorders. Eligible caregivers may apply for daytime or overnight respite services including: adult day care, home health aide, homemaker/companion, skilled nursing care or short term assisted living stays. The program pays for up to $7,500 in respite care services per family, per year. A 20% co-payment of the cost of service is required.
State of Connecticut Respite Resources
The State of Connecticut organized and published information about respite resources. Their web page describes respite services, provides access to a brochure, details policies and procedures pertaining to respite services, supplies links to applicable forms, answers Frequently Asked Questions, and directs people to the appropriate DDS Family Respite Centers.
