Supports
There are supports available for individuals dealing with mental health issues and for the families of those dealing with mental health issues.
Farmington/Unionville Residents:
Farmington/Unionville residents can call the office at (860)675-2390. Farmington Community Services offers short-term counseling services and can refer clients to other resources.

National Alliance on Mental Illness
The Connecticut Chapter of NAMI provides support, education and advocacy for Connecticut’s citizens affected by mental illness. They have links to crisis resources, provide listings of support groups, and run education programs/classes on mental illness. Their mission is to improve the quality of life of individuals living with mental illness and the lives of their loved ones.
Treatment referral and information is available 24/7 from the SAMHSA national helpline.
The Connecticut Clearinghouse is a statewide library and resource center for information on substance use & mental health disorders, prevention & health promotion, treatment & recovery, wellness, and other related topics. You can visit them in-person to access their collection of pamphlets, posters, reproducible fact sheets, books for loan, curricula for loan, DVDs for loan, and eBooks. There is a 10 dollar annual fee in order to borrow materials, but many of the distributables are free.
The hours for the Clearinghouse are:
- Monday: 8:30AM-5PM
- Tuesday: 8:30AM-5PM
- Wednesday: 8:30AM-5PM
- Thursday: 8:30AM-7:30PM
- Friday: 8:30AM-5PM
During these times there will be a staff member on-site to help you find reading materials.
