This is responsible skilled work in the operation and maintenance of a Class IV wastewater collection and processing facility and related equipment and machinery.

 Work involves taking the leading a wide variety of tasks and assignments geared toward the efficient collection and treatment of wastewater within federal and state parameters. Duties include operating and maintaining pumps, clarifiers, tanks, chlorination and sulfur dioxide infusion equipment, trucks, loaders and other equipment; training Water Pollution Control Plant Operator I's; taking readings of gages and meters; taking samples of product from all stages in the process; inspecting sewer lines and pump stations; repairing and assisting in the repair of a wide variety of equipment. The position also requires that training be given to subordinate personnel in all operations of the facility. The work requires that the employee have good knowledge, skills and ability in wastewater collection and treatment systems.
