The Town of Farmington is accepting certified and non-certified applications for Police Officer on a rolling basis.  We will collect applications and contact qualified applicants as positions become available.  This may take up to several months.  

Salary range is $79,946 - $105,556 with an attractive benefit package. Applicants must:

  1. Be at least 21 years old and of superior moral character;
  2. Be a citizen of the United States of America;
  3. Hold a valid driver’s license;
  4. Candidates must not have been convicted of any felony, class A or B misdemeanor, domestic violence crimes, or any act which would constitute perjury or false statement;
  5. A four-year college degree in Criminal Justice, Social Sciences, or related field preferred. 

Candidates must:

  1. successfully complete the Cooper physical agility test*;
  2. pass written tests and multiple interviews*; and
  3. pass a thorough background investigation that will include a polygraph examination, a psychological interview, and a comprehensive medical examination including drug screening.

*All candidates will be asked to complete a written test and the Cooper physical agility test even if they have a current CHIP card.  In order to participate in the physical agility test, all candidates must provide a completed Medical Approval Form signed by a certified physician which will be provided to you, along with a recruitment process timeline when a position becomes available.

Successfully hired candidates shall refrain from smoking at any time as a condition of employment.
